Jackie Wilkosz, Founder

Jackie Wilkosz, JD, CIPP-US, is an attorney specializing in data privacy and data protection law and is the founder of Enlightened Privacy, PC. She has practiced law for 10 years, with experience at global law firms, in-house, and as an independent consultant before launching Enlightened Privacy, PC in 2019. Throughout her career, Jackie has provided legal counsel to global tech companies and many successful early-stage companies. 

Jackie brings a solution-oriented mindset and thoughtful approach that fosters creativity and innovation. She drives collaboration through dynamic partnerships to generate practical, actionable advice. Jackie’s philosophy is that an organization's culture and values should inform the “how” of any data protection initiative. Fusing her experience working in a large law firm with her in-house experience, she develops solutions grounded in practicality and designed with implementation in mind. 

Prior to starting EP, Jackie worked at Intuit (maker of TurboTax and QuickBooks). While at Intuit, she led enterprise-wide projects, driving cross-functional teams across multiple teams and business units. At Intuit, Jackie worked extensively on GDPR and HR privacy initiatives, transactional privacy, as well as structuring the global privacy program.  

Prior to Intuit, Jackie advised mostly start-up clients on U.S. and global data protection and privacy matters at Cooley LLP. Prior to Cooley, Jackie advised large and mid-sized clients on global data protection and privacy compliance, as well as on commercial transactions, at Baker & McKenzie in Chicago.

Jackie received her law degree from the University of Illinois, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Illinois Law Review. She also received a Master’s degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois. Jackie is admitted to the Bar in California and Illinois. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). She has also completed a certificate program in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica.

With savvy and humor, Jackie makes the daunting process of facing legal challenges educational, collaborative, and fun. Jackie brings a uniquely enlightened approach to privacy law and compliance.

EP Team

Ben is an attorney licensed in Virginia and a privacy professional with deep experience advising organizations on privacy, data governance, and emerging technology risks. He has spent more than seven years advising technology leaders on U.S. and EU privacy requirements and translating complex regulatory obligations into actionable guidance and solutions.

Before entering private practice, Ben held privacy and data policy roles at Meta, where he led cross-functional initiatives across company-wide data governance, new hardware, and location data. Earlier in his career, he advised global clients on privacy assessments at TrustArc and covered privacy and regulatory proceedings as a journalist in Washington, DC. Ben is licensed to practice law in Virginia and holds CIPP/US and CIPP/E certifications.

Ben's superpower is transforming complicated technical and legal nuances and jargon into compelling narratives for a broad range of audiences and media. In particular, he excels at crafting slide decks that captivate even the shortest attention spans.  Ben is also an avid cyclist and is equally happy to counsel you on your next bike as he is on your Data Processing Agreement. Ben lives in Washington, DC, with his wife and daughter.

Ben, Senior Associate

Kelly spent 10 years in higher education administration, holds an MA in Counselor Education and an MBA, and earned a certificate in the fundamentals of GRC. She has extensive operations experience, including roles in compliance, risk management, and security (physical and cyber), and has worked both part-time and full-time in higher education, tech startups, and nonprofits.

Kelly previously worked with the privacy and security community by running the Day of Shecurity conference. She spends a lot of time working with AI and considering its productivity benefits alongside its ethical and security implications. She recently volunteered with Out in Tech as the regional lead for the four teams that host events in the SF Bay Area.

Kelly’s superpowers are creating order out of chaos, moving between technical and non-technical teams, and caring deeply about others. She loves creating new gluten-free recipes, whether from original ideas or by modifying existing ones. Kelly lives in the San Francisco East Bay with her wife and their two Keeshond dogs.
